Also available locally is a fantastic variety of sea-food. Lobster, prawns, scallops, oysters and mussels are all fished locally and will be the freshest you can find. If you would like to order some of these please tell either Henrietta before you arrive or Veronica or Michael on your arrival and we will do our best to source them for you plus give you some of our favorite recipes. You can also try your hand at catching trout from the lochs or mackerel from the sea best cooked barbequed on the fire.
There are no shops on Scalpay and typically our guests prefer to stock up on a week's worth of provisions before arriving on Scalpay. There is a well equipped Co-op in Broadford next to the petrol station and if driving from Inverness we would recommend using the big Tesco there. If you require other additional food items whilst on Scalpay you can book the boat for a return trip to Skye.
In addition, there are no restaurants on Scalpay as the island population is too small, but should you wish to plan an excursion to Skye during your visit we can recommend lunch at one of the excellent restaurants on Skye.
